As NDOT works to build the north side of the new Tropicana Ave interchange, all traffic has been shifted to the south side of Tropicana. Because of this, you may have noticed a different traffic pattern while driving on Tropicana over I-15. Until Fall 2023, NDOT is utilizing a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) to keep traffic flowing while lanes are restricted.

Using a DDI configuration means there are fewer conflict points, less traffic backup, and direct access to I-15 SB from Tropicana. The exhibit below explains how to safely navigate the DDI.
